Decide what stays
Mark furniture, boxes, and belongings that must remain. Keep personal documents, valuables, keys, and sentimental items separate from the removal pile. For an estate or shared property, settle the removal list with the person authorizing the work.
Photograph the entire scope
Take a wide photo of each room or pile, then close-ups of bulky or unusual items. Closed cabinets and stacked boxes can hide a lot of contents; describe those rather than assuming they are visible in the picture.
Show the route out
Include stairs, narrow doorways, gates, elevators, and the distance to the loading area. Check building reservations and loading rules in advance. Access information helps us plan the crew and confirmed quote.
Set aside items needing discussion
Tell us about liquids, chemicals, batteries, dense debris, or unknown materials. Do not mix these into ordinary household clutter. We need to review acceptance and handling before the job.
Confirm the plan
Share the address, contact, scope, and preferred date. If you will be away, agree on access and how changes will be approved. Keep the phone available for any questions before work starts.
